Lester River Bushcraft  wool made in USA.  The original and premier wool shirt for the modern outdoorsman since 2009.

The Boreal Shirt is a full coverage  Wool shelter for your woodland pursuits.

With a generous fit and rugged construction, this shirt might never return to your closet. It's cut long enough to shield your hips, and wide to stuff with layers.

The wrists cinch shut with stainless steel snaps, while the hood and neck gauntlet close down with draw cords. There's a bungee at the hem to stop drafts and let you adjust the length. The front pocket offers shelter for your hands, and multiple storage pouches for gathering. There's even a zippered pocket for your valuables and two lashing rings for keys or tools.

Wool is naturally flame retardant, antibacterial, and resistant to dirt and oils. It holds body heat when it's wet, and wicks moisture away from your body to regulate your personal environment.   You'll spend less time worrying about staying clean, working with fire in camp, or changing your layers when the temperatures shift. What's more, we've pre-shrunk the fabric so you can care for it at home.

Handmade with pride in Duluth, Minnesota.

Durable, Rugged, Outdoor Jacket Built to Last a Lifetime

I am 5'10 145lbs, used the size chart and ordered a medium, SPOT ON! Zero complaints with this purchase, worth every penny. This is something that is well made, and will last a lifetime, or two, or three. I live in Wisconsin so this is a welcome addition to my gear! Thanks LRB!!!! This Anorak screams "Made With Pride!"

I've had mine for 4 years, and I use it every year hunting in Northern MN and TN. It is comfortable over a large temp range, the pocket is great, and it hasn't pilled at all yet. I love it so much I bought a jacket this year!

This Anorak is Awesome! The pockets inside the kangaroo pocket are a fantastic feature. The size of the kangaroo pocket is huge and carry’s so much stuff it’s hard to believe. I have no issues with itchiness, super warm
I’m 6’ 3” 205lbs. 20” shoulder 26” sleeve. The large fits very well with room to layer. It’s as awesome as everyone says, you will not be disappointed .

    Wow...just wow!

So I finally pulled the trigger on the Lester River Boreal Anorak and I could not be happier with this decision. I was rather hesitant due to sizing. My body type is a mix of Frodo and Gimli. I stand 5' 6" with an athletic 220lb build. I continually has issues with sleeve length to match my barrel chest and broad shoulders. I went back and forth between medium and large on this particular anorak. After much internal voice debate I chose the medium. It arrived today (5 days after ordering) and it fits like it was tailored for me. Still room for layering, not goofy long on the body (hits me mid thigh perfectly) and sleeve length is spot on. The quality is phenomenal. Great stitching, plenty of storage whether foraging in the boonies or running around town you have ample room to store your belonging. The D ring attachements are good quality and are awesome for lashing down a fire kit, knife, keys or whatever you don't care to misplace. Lester River NAILED IT!!!! No regrets at all

    Best Purchase in last 20years!

Posted by D James on Jan 14th 2021

Bought 2 of these for my father and myself a couple of years ago. It was the best decision we've made in a long time! You literally can go out in almost any weather with as little as a t-shirt underneath as long you are sporting the Lester River Boreal shirt! Wearing it everyday during the late Fall and all though our Winter. The pocket and inner zipper pocket are nice for lights, phone, keys, etc....Hood is perfect too. Completely recommend. A+

    Boreal hoody

I've owned one for around 6 or 7 years, and wear it while sitting quietly in the north woods of Minnesota on cold November mornings. It has made sitting in the woods much more comfortable versus the synthetic layers I use to use exclusively, and I've been able to eliminate 2 layers. Awesome outerwear for the north woods, and eventually I will order one for Momma!

    Green Boreal Anorak

Posted by Randall on Nov 30th 2020

Top notch. Love it! Bought a similar item from a competitor. Both are of excellent quality and construction. Lester River fits better, more features and storage. I’m 5’11, 220lbs. Stocky build. Large could “accidentally” shrink just a bit and still fit great. The similar item, essentially fits like spandex after an “accidental” episode.

    We love them!!

Posted by Amy L Winkel on Nov 15th 2020

I bought these for me and my spouse 2 years ago. We love these!!! They are very comfortable and just oversized enough to wear a long john top and flannel underneath. We have worn them out hunting and while working outside for the last 2 winters here in WI. The front pocket is great for carrying deer calls, hand warmers, gloves, a snack or whatever. Cant imagine how we managed before we got these shirts. We do a lot of outdoor stuff hunting, hiking snowshoeing cross-country skiing etc., so we wear them all winter long. These shirts are very well made.
