Northwoods Poncho

The Northwoods Poncho is a 100% wool poncho measuring 54 x 82.

Our Northwoods Poncho is handmade right here in Duluth using the same quality construction as our world famous Boreal Shirts.

Available with or without a hood, the Northwoods Poncho configuration options are limited only by your own imagination.

Please check out the video below for a basic overview on the features.

•  Supplex binding around the full perimeter

•  550 cord sewn to the poncho on both 82" sides; this cordage is tacked down approximately every 3" creating a versatile tie out system.  The multiple tie out points make the poncho easy to configure while wearing and allows for attachment of a separate rain poncho.

•  Supplex channel sewn into each of the 54" sides; allowing for different types of cordage to be threaded through for use with a hammock creating a field expedient under quilt.

•  Boreal shirt pocket, including the security pocket with D-rings

•  2 arm sleeves on the inside of the poncho

    Northwoods Ponch (update)

Posted by AGC (USMC Ret) on Jan 8th 2018

Just got back from northern Virginia, out and about wearing this poncho in the near zero degree New Year's blizzard for hours at a time "zero complaints"... unlike the video, I attached the back flap under the front (let the front hang free and had unrestricted movement of my arms); didn't use the front pocket as a hand warmer (instead used a Mossy-Oak Predator hand warmer underneath instead of gloves... oh I had them and they were at the ready in that big front pocket but didn't need them); had just a sweatshirt with a hood for my base layer under the poncho (the hood in a hood worked perfectly); a scarf (under the poncho to fill any gaps); good pair of pants and thick knee high wool socks in combat boots 1/2 size larger than I would normally wear--to accommodate the thick wool socks and avoid tight spots that will make your feet sweat). Off to camp on the Blue Ridge and further enjoy the great outdoors with my "goto" poncho. Love it.

I liked it when I saw it WITHOUT a hood (if you already have hooded jackets this is a versatile "go-to layer"... and then I saw it WITH a hood (with room for another hood or had... I don't see a downside here (having either of them). I know when, where and how I am going to use it... so, I opted for the hooded poncho... a damn fine addition to my survival arsenal. Perfect!
